2025 really is the year of new beginnings...

Hi there!

I'm Gabby, a 23-year-old Brisbanite embarking on an exciting adventure in 2025 with my JB74 Jimny, affectionately named "Julian," and my teardrop camper.

I'm an amateur photographer, a crocheter, a painter, a jewellery maker, an ice cream enthusiast, a nature lover, a camper, a Wordle wizard, and above all, someone striving to experience and accomplish more each day than the last.

What sparked this change—and the start of my little business venture?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt like time was slipping by while I stood still. I’ve never had a clear calling for a career. I’ve tried studying a few different vocations, but none ever gave me that this is it feeling. My days all felt the same: leaving for work at 7:50, arriving by 8:30, spending 7.5 hours answering emails, generating invoices, occasionally getting screamed at on the phone, then heading home at 4:30. Sitting in traffic, eating dinner, showering, going to bed. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Now, I know what some of you might be thinking: first of all, that's a bit dramatic. Kids these days have no staying power. And at least in my case, you’re not entirely wrong. But recently, I had to ask myself: Why am I doing this?

I have no immediate desire to settle down, have 1.5 kids, buy a dog, and take on a mortgage I’ll be paying off for life. And, to be honest, I wasn’t earning enough to make that path feasible anyway.

Then, in July 2024, I spent two incredible weeks in Broome—only my second time leaving Queensland—and it hit me. What I really wanted for my life was to see and do more.

Fast forward five months...

Now, my family’s house is up for sale, we’ve sold most of our belongings, I’ve handed in my notice at my 9-5, picked up an online weekend job, signed up for a brow course, and I’m applying for an accounting and bookkeeping course to prepare for the long term. Oh, and I’ve built this website and blog, created a business email and Instagram, reinstated my ABN, and registered my business name with ASIC.

Hectic, right?

Introducing girl in a jimny (lowercase format very much intended)

You might’ve noticed I’m into just a few different hobbies and interests. My talents are pretty eclectic, which is why I wanted the name girl in a jimny to be open-ended. Maybe I’ll also sell bracelets, offer facials, walk dogs, or sell prints. I’m already laying the groundwork to provide bookkeeping services in the future.

What ties all these ideas together? Bringing a little more beauty to someone’s life—whether by helping them make time for that long-awaited date night, creating the perfect handmade gift, or helping them feel as beautiful on the outside as they are inside.

So here begins girl in a jimny—a travelling brow artistry business (for now), operating out of the back of a Jimny and a teardrop camper. Cosy, right?

Imagine this...

Getting your brows (and maybe one day your lashes) refreshed with a view of Cape Hillsborough Beach, or at the foot of the Bungle Bungles.

Traveling can be busy work, but sometimes all we need is to feel a little looked after. That small reset can make all the difference.

Follow along on this journey—I hope to see you out there, off the beaten track!
